The net attaches over the top of 4' square target hoop of the CATCH IT™ allowing ball to rebound back to player. The target area can be set at the exact point that the hitter will contact the set. This precise target area gives immediate feedback of the position and accuracy of the set.
A few more reasons for setters to start at the net with right foot forward in the same spot everytime provides a consistent passing target and allows the setter to develop an accurate sense of his location if and when he moves to take a poor pass. Position at the net is the best spot to intercept overpasses or block if the setter is front row.
The ring of fire is still in litigation I guess. I found a replacement from Tandem Sport, it is the target device they use for the setting and catching. It has a net attached, I just didn't use the net and put the hoop straight up and it is the ring of fire. I would send you a picture but Tandem Sport isn't showing it on their web site.
